What does “self-service claims automation” actually involve?

A claim has several steps that need to be automated to achieve full automation. From identification through self-service, to valuation, calculation, and settlement.

How do you automate a claim from start to finish?

By enabling policyholders to self-service the identification of their items. Through API’s and the database the most equivalent replacement product(s) is produced with current, updated prices attached to them. Automatic application of the company terms and deductible to the current market value results in the calculation of the pay-out. Communicated back to the policyholder in seconds from the first notice of loss with a transparent claims summary report and whichever means to settle the claim you choose.

How do you find the correct replacement for a damaged item?

Upptec identifies the most suitable replacement product in the valuation process. In stock, competitive prices for the replacement products are subsequently displayed through the connection to Upptec Retailer Network.

How do you collect and validate product data?

It’s a mix of automatically imported features from our data partners and manual individual research by our product team.

How do you decide which product replaces a damaged one?

Replacement items are selected using a data-driven process that matches the lost item’s specifications, such as brand, functionality, features, and market segment, with comparable products available from trusted retailers.
