Today’s claims process often stumbles over the small things. Too many attachments, unclear documentation, and inconsistent case handling create unnecessary friction for both policyholders and claims teams. What should be simple becomes time-consuming and error-prone.
That’s the reason Upptec is now launching a smarter solution for proof-of-ownership in automated claims: Collect.
Collect is built on a dynamic rule engine that ensures the policyholder provides exactly the right amount of documentation. It automates the attachment process and puts control in the hands of the claims handler, while offering a clear and smooth journey for the customer.
How Collect Works
1. The Case Is Created & the Rule Set Selected by the Claims Handler
The claims handler initiates the claim and selects which rule set should apply. This determines what documentation will be required based on the type and value of each item.
👉 Control from the start, customized logic for every case.
2. The Link Is Sent & The Policyholder Enters the Flow
A link is sent to the policyholder, who can access the flow without logging in. The interface is clear and mobile-friendly.
👉 Friction-free entry ready for instant action.
3. Item Information Is Entered, Quick and Guided
The policyholder registers each item with purchase price and date. When they’re done, they submit the initial version of the claim.
👉 Simple input. Structured at the source.
4. The Rule Engine Activates and Attachments Requirements Are Triggered
Once submitted, the rule engine kicks in. Items that exceed defined thresholds (e.g. purchase price or compensation after depreciation) are flagged and the system automatically asks the policyholder for attachments on those specific items.
At this stage, the item list is locked. The policyholder can no longer add or change items, only upload requested attachments to the flagged objects.
👉 Just the right requests. Based on rules, not guesswork.
5. Final Submission, All Attachments Are Sent
The policyholder uploads the required attachments (e.g. receipts, photos) and submits the completed claim.
👉 One clean package, ready for assessment.
6. Handler Review With Granular Control
The claims handler reviews the claim. If needed, they can manually unlock individual items to request further attachments without reopening the full claim.
👉Less back-and-forth, more clarity.
